Sence I been stuck here over the week I thought I might get one of the little pet peeves out of the way and thats fixen he radio. Its a newerish Pioneer with wired connerctions which is no problem but I think back when I had alternator problems I might have burnt the radio out even though it barely worked before. Do I test it like the clock in a similar topic here or do I take a digital multimeter and probe it?
Bought a high dollar Pioneer once. When it crashed Pioneer did nothing. That was 1980. I've spent 1000's on stereos etc since. NONE OF THEM PIONEER. Pioneer apparently is crap. Trade it for a Kenwood or Alpine. You can actually get to Alpine tech support in one phone call and they won't give you any crap about talking to you and fixing your problem.
We had a perfectally good kenwood sitten around that got canabalized by someone who shall rename nameless and Iam just tryin to go with what I got for now. If anything I'd rather have the stock or a stock look a like in there.
Good luck on the stock look. The radio dies at somepoint. Won't even bring in stations. Most of us have gone to CDs. You can paint the face plate stainless steel (Lowes) which comes close.
