When my 1981 280Z is cold it will idle about normally but die when you put your foot down. Roughly 30 seconds later something kicks in and idle goes up to about 2200 rpm . Stil with no pick up when you put your foot down. The idle slowly comes down as the car comes up to operating temp. What is causing this and how do I fix it? Any suggestions appreciated please.

You may want to put a meter on your cold start injector and also check to see if you have your temp. synsors hucked up backwards.
