Hey Tony D,
I was reading an older post of yours about the oil cooler. What model RX7 did you use for your oil cooler? Did you have to do any major mods to fit it? I want to upgrade my oil cooler to keep my oil temps below 225F. I have an 82zxt. Thanks.
Not Tony, but I know that any of the 87-92 Turbo II's have a nice front mount oil cooler with simple banjo fittings. I had one (87model) and wish I had kept that cooler before I sold it cause now I'm looking for one. Hope this helps
I used the first generation unit. Mounted in a fiberglass "c" channel with big red silicone o-rings.
The stock fittings will screw in, but longer hoses make it easier to get where you want it.
225 is not a bad temperature for your oil at all. You only need to worry if you are approaching 240. Remember, the stock turbo has a regulating system. Most aftermarket oilstats are set for 180, which is at the low end of ideal (more in the line of 200-210 is ideal, as it won't let any water condense in the oil at all...)
