Last June, before I put in my new engine, I put in a rebuilt steering rack. I just realized that I'm missing a bolt on the steering coupler -- the coupler closest to the rack, not the one by the hockey puck. Must have forgot to put it in.
If anyone has the specs on this bolt (size, thread pitch, etc.) I'd appreciate it, as I'd like to buy one and install it ASAP. (Or, if you've got one lying around the garage, email me and I'll buy it from you).
gene, hey ive been meaning to ask you..have you dynoed the car recently? your number on your website, 130HP is lower than a stock rebuild, i dont under stand how you have all those mods and dont have higher horsepower!
bubbleguinea: nope, haven't dynoed the car since I put the new engine in. it's broken in and tuned, but i haven't had time to make it to the dyno yet. and I can't decide if I want to wait until I've got a new ignition system in before I dyno it again ;-).
those numbers on my site are for the old, tired L28.
oh the way your site is set up, it acts like that is your new current HP!!!!
i was so scared, cause my bottom end is EXACTLY like yours, other than race preped rods, completely ballanced as a mass....i even went with dished pistons like you!
question: is it fast? like quick? throw you back in the seat kind of? tires break loose easily in rain? tell me tell me!!
ohh that bolt, i forgot to put mine in to...you are talking about the bolt holding the main steering shaft into that little ujoint area? if so, i think thats just a standard 13mm bolt, like ever other bolt on the car....
> one more thing...how did you manage high compression with
> the dished pistons?
i had the head shaved. i wanted flat-tops, but the guy who built the engine thought it would be overkill and used the dished pistons. oh well. maybe one day i'll do a compression test; i don't expect it to be much higher than stock, but it's all good.

it'll get up and go when i need it to ;-). and it's a monster from 60 to 110 mph.

same with me!!!! except my guy who did the block couldnt find a "good set" of flatops that were oversized... we have practically the same car, thats awesome! do you race anybody? (legally or illegally) im just really excited, cause i havent started my car yet and ran it, so im really really anxious to see what she can do!!
