I am a idiot... I have a few question on where wires belong in my 1973 4-speed. I have a wiring diagram but need some help.


Stupid wire(s) 1 and 2 are on the passenger side of the engine compartment and are black with 2 yellow stripes. I belive that these wires attach to the solinoid by blade connection.


Stupid wire 3 is red, thin and fairly long. This wire is also on the passenger side of the eng compartment. It does not turn to yellow...

It would help if you gave some indication where the other end of these wires go. Also how thick are they? Also what's on the end, bare wire, terminal of some sort, etc...

If this used to be an automatic they may have gone to the inhibitor switch. Only black/yellow wires on the car should go to some part of the starter circuit. Reds are used in several locations including power to r/h headlight, fog light circuit, and on and on.

Tranny wires.

Must be for reverse sensing switch for back-up lights.

Possibly a neutral sensing switch for A-C or somesuch?
