The state test station numbers are twice as high as the dealers. It
passes at the dealer but barely (Co 1.30%). They adjusted the AFM and replaced the
throttle position switch. This is the second test. I'm still
getting 3% CO. The HC and NO went up the seconds time as well.
Original CO was 6%.

Dave, just a suggestion - brand or octane level of the gasoline may make a difference. good luck Jerry 83zx

Try not to touch the AFM yet. the AFM should be the last thing to touch. First, try to do a complete tune up. If it does not cure, then check the injectors to see if they are ok, and at the same time replace a brand NEW cat, sould help :)

here is a little trick, try to heat up the cat befpre you dyno test your car, ususally, a weak cat will rise the co reading a little bit excately like you. if the hc is high, then its another problem.
