Well, this weekend I finished the extremely easy task of replacing the heater core...what a tart of a job that was...well, 90 bucks for a new core, 35 for new heater hoses, 7 for clamps....all is well and a nice heater....today I smell anti-freeze...dammit. You guys mentioned it....replace the heater valves and such while i was under there...did i listen...**** no....it was too expensive! Yeah, well guess where the leak is? you got it. Victoria british is gonna cost me 160 bucks for 2 little copper ditties that work with the heater valves and such.... ANYONE know where I can get these parts for less? Other good Z parts places that don't rape you? For near 300 bucks, that's a lot of $ for a freakin' heater.....please help! Also, AL 260Z, you were right on the money with my clunking/vibration problem....front ujoint on the driveshaft was toast...big time....that was another tart of a ditty....

Ah who needs a heater anyway? Be a man! ;) Saving 300 bucks would make me all warm and squishy, but then I live in cali. I unhooked my heater, cause of the anti-freeze problem you mentioned. I also took out the AC, not a good idea in cali but my baby is a weekend car. Winoman is right though, rockauto has good prices, which should be fine for these, but sometimes you need original Datsun parts.

yeah, I ran it, and then pushed the hoses near the valve and it squirted antifreeze out of it....I was pretty hard on it when chainsawing the old hoses off them...what a pain in the ass.....rockauto doesn't seem to have anything...process of junkyard eliminiation I guess!

Courtesy Nissan! 20% off list

I got my heater valve at Courtesy. I have a non-vacuum 77 heater and yes, the valves do leak! I think mine cost around $60. 1-800-527-1909, mention you are a Z club member (any club, practically...IZCC, Zcar.com)
