345 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Mr-Always
I noticed fluid seeping out of a power steering hose. It is the hose with the
Big nut that attaches to the power fluid resivor. Has any body replaced one of these and how difficult is it gonna be??. I ordered the hose from o'riley's.
looks like I will be busy on Saturday.

Sounds like the pressure hose. I replaced the one on the 82 turbo. It takes about 2 hours, if you fight your way through figuring out which way to feed to hose to the rack ( and I can't remember which way was easiest). If I did it again, it would take about 25-30 minutes. It is not hard, just tedious especially if the car isn't high enough off the ground.
I replaced mine a few weeks ago. Steering box type. Had two tiny pinholes in the pressure line.
If the return hose is rusty, you may want to replace both. Cost $58 from autozone + advance(each store had one line only).

tools: adjustable wrench, philips screwdriver, and socket wrench w/ 24mm socket.

Hard part is putting the old brackets on the new lines. Don't need all of them, just a few.
