Help! Issue with car not starting...

We are doing a race build on a 1980 280zx. Part of the build is to install a kill switch that interrupts both the battery and alternator so that when you flip the switch the engine stops and all power is killed. Here is the part where you get to call me a bone head and where the problem stems from. As the car was running we clipped an ignition wire in the box just by the battery. The car stopped running. This is where we decided to put the interrupt, But as we were running out of work hours we decided just to splice the wire back together and test start the car before we went home. Of coarse it will not start. There is current at the ignition and plugs, the car turns over fine but it does not feel like its even try to catch at all. Could we have messed up the fuel injectors or messed with something in the electronics? Not to complicate things but there is a Code alarm installed. I called their techs this morning asking if the alarm would mess with anything other than interrupt the starter and they said no. I apologize in advance if this reading this causes you to slap your forehead and yell STUUUUPID!!

sounds like you clipped one of the fusible links or the feed to them. did you check your crimp connectors easy to not do them right if you don't have a lot of experience with such. always give them the tug test when finished. surprising how often they just pull apart.
Exactly which wire did you clip?
I will check the wires and connections again to make sure we have them secure. The next morning after charging the battery back up it started. I think maybe what happened is that we wired the kill switch in a way that even though the car was running and the alternator was working, the car was running off of the battery that was draining it to the point that it turning over but not working the electronics for the injectors ect and therefore it would not start. Not completely sure on this
Any reason why the battery and alt? There are battery switches available. Here is one I made to shut off the coil.

Check the injectors with a "noid light'. See if they are getting a pulse. Norm K.
