Hi all

I have a 76 280z and now that its getting cold down here i have a question. when i start my car in the morning it takes about 15-20 minutes to start putting out good heat. Im wondering is this normal or should i replace my thermostat or any other ideas to get it to warm up quicker any help would be appreciated because I drive my car daily and i have to be at work at six in the morning.

The thermostat should keep the water circulating inside the engine until it is about half way up the temp gauge, then open. This will give you heated air sooner. If your thermostat is stuck open, then it will stay cold and never get that warm.

When in doubt, replace the thermostat. It is cheap and pretty easy to replace. Just make sure you get it in right side up!

Have fun!
