The original headliner had about 1/2 inch foam and then the skin from the "Nauga". The one the "professional" screwed up had only, at most, 1/16 inch foam backing. The other guys that are more expensive want to do it in cloth... I know the foam backing helps deaden sound as for the last 3 months I have been driving with no headliner and it sounds like an empty 55 gallon drum... Suggestions please..

Joe,
Get yourself some 1/2" closed cell neoprene insulation. Glue it up and then glue up the hed liner over it. I believe you can get it at an industrial supply company. We use it to insulate water pipes. It comes in good size sheets and several different thicknesses.

Heres what i did

I put a large piece of dynamat on the roof of my car. I have no headliner and it looks kinda goofy, but all the peolple that see it says, **** dynamat thats good stuff! When you apply a headliner over it you cant even tell its there. It has quieted my Z interior greatly!

Just what i did- Evan
