This is getting to be a constant one, the best headers you'll ever find for the Z is the Nissan Motorsport race headers That's what they call them.
They did the best engineering with these for the Z's, they are tuned for the Z motor and you'll not find a better one anywhere. You might not find a more expensive header either but it's the general rule you get what you pay for and these are well worth it. I got a used set and I'll never use another brand, the difference is noticeable.

True, NISMO is the best header you can buy, outside of a custom built. BUT, you have to consider smogging your car. NISMO headers offer no provisions for smog. There are no air-injection fittings, no EGR tube, no O2 sensor, etc.... I have a set of thunderbird headers on my 240. They have air injection tubes and air rail, along with a tube on #6 for the EGR. Since my car no longer requires an annual smog check, and I'm going to be racing this summer, I've purchased a set of NISMO headers, and will be swapping them on in the near future (next month or so). So, I will have a set of used thunderbird headers with 2.5 merge pipe for sale. I'll sell them for $50 plus shipping. They are in good shape, not warped or anything, but the air-injecton fittings need to be removed and rethreaded to eliminate some exhaust leaks. Other than that it is in good condition. I will also have a 2.25 exhaust with 2-chamber Flowmaster for sale. Let me know if you're interested. This setup worked great for my car with good power and sound. I'm just becoming a little more involved in racing, and this setup isn't exactly the best for that situation, but for daily driving, it works great.

$300 +shipping. 6 into 2 design.
They come in two different sizes, 1 5/8 primary to 2.5 collector or 1 3/4 primary to 2.5 collector. I would recommend the 1 5/8 unless you have a VERY sporting engine that likes to live in high rpms. You can order them through NISMO or through the dealer, really doesn't matter.

These headers are awesome, but are quite expensive (double motorpsorts) and DO NOT HAVE A MERGE PIPE or any smog fittings whatsoever. This means you need to have a merge pipe custom made, and should run 2.5 exhaust. Custom merge pipes run about $50-80. Custom 2.5 exhaust runs about $180-250.

Here's the addresss (you can also get a catalog)
