how do spacers and adapters work?
trying to mount fwd 16's with a 38mm offset,also local tips(canadians) will be great

From my experience an adapter was a plate that would adapt a wheel to your car that had a different bolt pattern. A spacer is a shim that goes between the wheel and the hub or drum to give you more of a offset.

What you want is spacers that bolt on. Its a round peice of metal how ever thick you need to make them the right offset and it has studs on it. It bolts to your car like a wheel would then you bolt you wheels to the studs on your spacers. The man you need to talk to about spaces is Evan purple 240Z do a search for his name and email him hes a nice guy he should help you out.

Evan bought them from John Williams. I did as well. They work great. John's email address is-

They do bolt on to your car and they have four studs on them like your brake rotor and your rims then go on the studs.

If you do a search for "author" gearhead, I wrote alot about this topic just a month or so ago.
