Just my 2 cents but, skip the v-8 plans and stick with the original Z idea and build on that. If you want a V-8 buy a Mustang or a Camaro. The Z heritage is something to preserve.

Ya, Right... V8 fits fine... check out hybridz.org and you can find out more about the swap. People they have been there and done that and are glad to help. Plus remember it is your car do with it as you want... you can also find information on the 6 if you stay that way also... BTW congrats and welcome

Dont get me wrong, i love the look of the z and everything but the engine in the car is tired. I would need to get it replaced or rebuilt and i think the whole idea of the v8 rocks. The car is going to be built for speed and built for drag racing, these two things lead me to the v8 for a few reasons, cost, ease of finding parts, and power.
If going for the stock thing is what you like do it man, but i'm for the power and the sweet look of the car, externally and internally and i dont need to keep the straight 6 to do it.
Love all your guy's cars and everything.
