I have a 73 Datsun 240Z (I live in Australia.) I am going to replace the engine and auto box for an L26 with 5 speed. Does anybody know if I will have to get a different length tailshaft.

If you mean drive shaft it should be the same. I swapped my engine for a 280zx turbo block and an 81 5-speed and the driveshaft bolted right up. If you use the Borge Warner 5-speed from the turbo car, it will not bolt up.
