Are the fusible links something special that I really need to order or can I make them from the same gauge wire from Pep Boys?

Thanks

They are what the name implies
a fuse for it's respective system.

So don't replace them with regular old wire unless you want to risk being able to cook wieners over the resultant fire.

A fusible link is wire that is 4 - 6 guages
smaller than the wire inline.they actually
work as a SLOW BLOW type fuse because
they tend to get HOT before they blow,
Look in the Motorsport catalog pgs. 88-92
call them, (800) 633-6331

I recommend the factory link, as it is only about $6.00, HOWEVER, in mine, as a short term fix, I bought a Chrysler fusible link from pep boys of about the same gauge as the Z's and spliced the end to work.

Just be sure to get a different fusible link and not use ordinary wire.
