I pulled the fuel pump....tested it on the battery...it's dead. I tested the fuel pump connectors...I get 10 - 11.5 volts output with the key in the on postion. The battery tests at 12.85 votls. Is this normal or is there a voltage loss in the fuel pump wiring. What would be my next step?

Thanks

Bob

I would guess that the f/i-fuel pump relay contacts are a bit dirty/corroded/burned. Might be able to get away with slightly lower voltage for now but it may cause problems down the road. Might be able to clean the relay contacts, but have to open up the relay. Check the ground connection at the pump for good ground. Might just be able to wire in a new ground connection locally. Test power on power side and use a different chassis ground and see if that helps volt level.
