82' 280zxt owner here. Any recommendations for a new fuel pump? I've tried the autobest fuel pump but they've broken on me twice, and would like to find a more resilient fuel pump, especially considering the price the autobest pump commands.
My OEM fuel pump still works fine after 40+ years but 500 bucks for a new OEM replacement is way too expensive (in my opinion). I would personally look for a oem fuel pump off a parts car. You could probably get it for under a hundred bucks. It wouldn't hurt to connect it to a battery before you pay just to make sure it didn't freeze up or anything though
yep. It's mindboggling that new pumps are priced like a new set of rims.... get a used one if you can. the original nissan pumps just seem to last and last. check your local salvage yards for a 280zx and if they got one, see if it still has its pump. even its used, it could still work even as a spare.
