Basic Question.
I have a 73 240Z. I am rebuilding this car and now working on the fuel system. Will the electric fuel pump only work work when the car is running?
Also I just get only a dribble of gas when I turn over the car. Not a strong stream or spurt. I have boiled out the tank, cleaned the lines and put in a new filter in the electric fuel pump and in the engine comp.
Help!
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the electric pump on the early cars is only to supplement the mechanical pump...I think it only comes on when the engine is sucking a lot of fuel, or its RPM based, or something.
You can wire it up to run full-time, but the PO of my car did this and now the pump is shot.
