Greetings!
My 83 280ZX 2+2 is going through fuel pumps and its getting expensive. All the pumps I put in seem to run very noisy as in GRRRRRRR. I've checked the tank to pump supply line fittings and looked for kinks in the line and thought the line might be collapsing but that doesn't seem to be the case. I put a pump in in Aug.,3000 miles later While whizzing down the highway the car starts to lose power. At 75 MPH the engine would run for 10-15 seconds then die for 3-4 seconds then hook up and run 10-15 etc. The car will do this all day long but the minute I slow down it dies . Next pump I got 35 miles out of, after that next one 25 miles.

Any Ideas???

The screen on pickup line in fuel tank may be plugged.
Blow backwards from fuel pump to tank to clean.
A noisy fuel pump on my 78 was caused by pluged screen, I cleaned twice in 2 weeks, then relined the tank.
A relining kit costs about $28 + a qt. of asatone.
