fuel line connectios by engine

I just finished my first plenum pull but the Z is not starting. I am thinking I may have messed up connecting the fuel lines to the tube that runs along side the balabce tube where the fuel pressure regulator is located. Currently I have the rubber fuel line that comes out of the fuel filter to the tube which runs to the FPR and the other rubber hose connects to the other tube which connects back to the fuel damper.

Please help guys. I am looking forward my first start after my first plenum pull.

If I did connect them wrong, could I have messed up the inside of the plenum by flooding it with fuel?

thanks

the fuel filter should run directly to the FPR which is on the driver side of the plenum, the dampener (passenger side) runs directly to that hardl ine on the fender wall.
THANK YOU SIRE!~GOnna try again!
Lum... I think you got it backwards... the one from the fuel filter hits the dampener and dampens the pulsations from the pump. The pressure regulator sits before the gas tank return line to hold the pressure in the line and return whatever excess is created.

so you got the lines backwards, flooding with fuel... nope... no fuel at all so chill :D
Thank you everyone!

Got the lines re done, fired her up!! and she is ALIVE! AFTER MY FIRST NOON PLENUM PULL!

I fired her up ans she was smoking like a drug addict! ( I soaked the pistons with MMO , while doing the plenum pull ) so after a few minutes , I shut her off so the neighbours wont call in cops lol. I will wait until night time and fire her up again to finish the smoke show.

thanks everyone!! I am happy she at least is firing up!
hahaha!!! the smoke show will last quite a bit XD hahaha!!!

I know that feeling! welcome to the club of the future mechanics! lol!

I think that is the first major step we all take XD

Ok, guys I am done with my first plenum pull ever!

I am so happy, its a great milestone for me. Never done that type of work before lol.

Here are some mentals notes I took during the install.

For the hard hoses, the one that are very difficut to insert back onto the tubes, I used a little bit or plenty of dielectric silicon. I came across the brake booster hose? that was very hard to put back in, I could not slide it back into the tube. Even when I used plenty of dielectric grease, it wouldnt budge at all. I then boiled some really hot water and dump the hose into it. Next, I greased it up with dielectric grease ( pure silicon ) and it went it like butter!

I greased every little electrical connector I found, no matter how small or big they were. If I could reach them, I greased them , lol.

I kept the EGR and water hoses under the plenum. Reason, I felt unsure about ripping the EGR on my own and didnt want to mess it up. The hoses under the plenum, whatever I could match with a lordo hi pressure fuel hose, I replaced them with the new hoses.

In regards to the EGR. The tube were not really blocked solid, only the driver side had some caked up residue at about 30% of the hole. So, I blasted the inside of the tube ( I didnt remove it ) with TB cleaner and right away I inserted a small clear through vacuum hose attached to a vacuum pump and sucked the carbon out of the tube. I also bought a small snake cable and inserted into the tube to break up and left over carbon, followed it up with another blast of TB cleaner and finished it up with a good overall vacuum.

here are some pics!

I wanted to leave " no bolts behind " yet, somehow I ended up with this 10mm bolt :( FAIL

thanks for looking!

and happy new yearZ!

VEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY NICE! VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY CLEAN!

can we get a full shot of your car? :p

I can see a "rim" peeking through ;D

as for the bolt... it could be a ground of one of the terminals on the back of the plenum
Gracias Sal!

here is the pic of Zinister! in all her glory, last summer :)
