I dont know if this will help or not on my 280zx turbo 1983 has it where when you get 1/8 of a tank it dose a diffent gas gauge I would think 1/8 but I dont know that about 5 gals what I would do is when the light turn on go buy a gal gas and run it untell it runs funny and u would know
