well, i pulled half my dash apart to change heater core lines. the onesf rom the firewall, to the valve, to the core. inlet and outlet. i blew one when i miss shifted at the track. changed thelines, went out and beat the piss out of the car {shifting at 7500} it still has a slight leak in it.. my guess is the valve is screwed up, and not letting the pressure return to the motor itself. or i didn't get it tight enough. looks like the original 76 valve, all nice and crusty.
any takers on ths? any easy fixes? i love my heater, so getting rid of it out of the question.
You really should change the valve -and- all the hoses whenever you have it that far apart. Did you use real nissan molded hoses or try to use autoparts store hose?
the heater valve itself isn't opening to allow the pressure to bleed off. fingered it all out today. let the car run for a bit, did the ole squeeze test. the feed/inlet line has way too much pressure in it, hence the leak, and blown hose
