Sorry, I'm new to this forum and I posted this in General but realize it probably belongs in here more. So sorry for the duplication.

I have a 82 280zx and my passenger side door lock has frozen up. The key will not turn
it, nor will the inside latch. It also has electric locks from which the drivers side opens up
the passenger side, and this doesn't open it up either. So essentially the door can't be
opened. Has anyone ever had this happen or have any suggestions on what to do? I am
going to call a local Nissan dealer but none of them have answered their phones yet. A
couple locksmiths say they can get it open and repair the lock, but I don't want them to
screw up the door getting it off.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Mike

I had an eagle talon that this happend to, i took a couple of bottles of lock de icer (SPRAY) and just spray it in the lock, this cleaned it up well, and if that doesnt work, try taking of the door panel if you can and check for any jammed linkage

Good luck-evan72

Doubt it's possible to get the interior door panel off without destroying it ,awful tight along the dash and trim mouldings. if soaking the mechinism with lube doesn't work(give it a couple days) I think you can buy a slim jim at a body supply store and reach down inbetween the glass and door to try to release the lock. you can look inside your driver door to see where and what you would need to pull on.
Don't know if this helps any, but it's what I did on another car I had.

I don't think it's nothing that can be lubed. It's not the tumblers in the lock. And the panels can't come off with the door closed, at least not that I can tell. The slim jim might be my best luck. Can you slim jim the door latches on 280zx's? Cause I don't think the lock will budge even from the inside.
