hey there fellow z-heads i was wondering what is best way to strengthen rusting frame on 74 260? has anyone connected front to rear frame rail and then weld supports across? also gauge type steel would be ideal for this job? thanks for any info christurbo

You have to fix the rust first but you....

can also add reinforcement. This is what mine is like. The diagonal pipe goes to a plate welded to the frame rail over the sway bar mounts. The sway bar mounts were then reinforced with 1 1/2 inch angle iron.
