Hi all, this is a general setup question for a most cars. I have a 3.0L engine, and want to know the setups that have worked ignition wise and fuel management. such as carbs. I want a whole setup for each. So far i have a high compression motor with a single poit distributor with the petronix conversion. I have an accelle coil, and will buy new wires. for fuel i kept the round top SU's that are rebuilt and like new condition. This setup worked on my l24 just fine but now the engine is bigger. Let me know what you suggest, you'll be giving others ideas also.

My 3.1 would start to run out of breath above 5000 (I shifted 2-3 at ~6500, 3-4 at ~6000, 4-5 at ~5500). I installed a 290/.503" cam and got another 500+ rpm. Then I got 2" Jag carburetors, and now it seems to breathe pretty well. Next step: head work. As for Ignition, I have the Pertronix on a recurved distributor (mechanical advance slots partially filled in with JB Weld) at 18 initial, 35 max advance, and an MSD 6AL. Tachie no workie at the moment, can't decide whether to get the MSD tach adaptor or a new tach.

BTW, the motor definitely had more of a low-end edge before the cam and carbs. 240Z carbs and stock cam on a 3+ liter is a KILLER street setup.
