fiberglass skins

ayone ever tried making fiber glass skins for their doors? I've worked with fiberglass before and made other panels...but an entire door would be tough... I was thinking about just making a skin and bonding it on after taking off the metal skin? would it be worth my time in wieght savings? I imagine I'd be wasting my time, but I thought I'd see what you guys thought about it. Thought about doing the same thing for the hatch. I'm making fenders right now... and they've been turning out great so far. By the way, if you're wondering, I've got a 83 280zxt. I''m also in the process of making an aluminum panel that fits in place of the t-top glass. I've decided that my car needs a diet...any ways, let me know what you guys think.
