Re: FI TO 2" SU CARB QUESTIONS

I was thinking of doing the same thing.. If ya get some good info or pics, e-mail me [email protected]. How much did you pay for the setup? What all did you get with it? I'm anxious too see how it goes for you. Funny how the carb guys want into FI, and the FI guys want the carbs!!

Re: FI TO 2" SU CARB QUESTIONS

Personally for the 900 dollars it costs for a Su swap, i would go and buy a aftermarket fuel managment system (SDS). Then from there the mods you do on the EFI will beat the SU's. Then again sometimes it barrels down to understanding of things. I understood FI first, and am now learning carbs. I just find that there are too many parts to wear out on carbs, but they are still cool under the hood hehe.

Re: FI TO 2" SU CARB QUESTIONS

For me switching to carbs would be a performance increase... two 2" carbs can just move more air and fuel than the na injector setup, and it's so much simpler. You don't have ten million things to go wrong, and they look cool as opposed to a spiderweb of wires, hozes, weird 1/4" coolant tubes, and a maze of vacume lines leading to sensors. The more I read and understand the FI, the more I respect it, but carbs are just plain and simple cool. Also, for me to get better fuel/air flow, I need to do all kinds of crazy things, where carbs are swaped for bigger ones. My two cents.
