Hello everyone,

I just bought a new exhaust for my 280zx and I am having some trouble installing it. I did not take a good look t the old system before I took it off the car, and now it's difficult to install the pipe that connects the catalytic conv. and the muffler.

What I want to know is:

Does this pipe have to go above the rear/Left drive shaft, or under it? I know it goes above the control arm, but have no idea about its position with respect to the drive shaft. Could someone tell me how to do this? Thank you.

Hey Dude,

I beleive the exhaust pipe goes over the drive shaft. You may have to take the drive shaft off first, then put the pipe in place. Check your Hanes Manual, it shows a diagram of the exhaust system. If not, your gonna have to go check at your local junk yard. I really beleive that there is a curve to your exhaust pipe where you could work around the shaft.
