I own a 1975 280 z which has an exhaust manifold leak. Does any one have experience removing this part? I have a shop manuel but very little info is given and nothing describing its removal. Any advice is appreciated.

If you aren't experienced doing it, I would suggest for the first time you seek out a mechanic. Here's why:

It's not that difficult PER SE to remove, but you've got a real potential to BREAK one or more of the mounting bolts if you are inexperienced at removing them. And, there isn't much room to work, so if you don't have a good assortment of socket wrenches and extensions, then you will get frustrated real fast.

A pro can remove on in about an hour.

This might be a good time to add a header exhaust since they cost less than an OEM exhaust manifold. You'll also have to remove your Fuel injection system because they share the same manifold gasket.

Hope this helps. Good Luck

its a real pain

first thing to do is take a can of wd40 and spray the **** out of the studs
for a couple days straight

its a good idea you take it to a machine shop
once u get it off and have them resurface it
because the exhaust manifolds are prone to warp
