hello
I am in the middle of putting a 81 motor and a 5 speed from a earlier z in my 71.
The motor has a p79 head and I am using the exhaust manifold for the p79 motor
The trouble is that the 240z exhaust flange won't match up with the p79 exhaust manifold.
I was going to go to the junk yard and saw off a flange that will work and have it welded on my exhaust(I have the exhaust out of the car)
or does some one have a better Idea ??

I am not going to put headers on right now so that won't work

Use the original exhaust manifold from the L24 motor. It should flow just as well as the ZX manifold and it will bolt up no problem. It is also a lot lighter than the ZX manifold.

Suggestion: use the 79 manifold and purchase a 79 headpipe. It would be better to cut the end of the headpipe to fit the rest of your exhaust system than to mess around with the flange (too many fitting problems)
