The problem is: when the engine is running on idle it is o.k., but when you accelerate the engine starves. I had it checked and they said pump and lines were O.K., but needed a new gas tank. I took the tank off and had cleaned and flushed, with no success. Anybody had similar problems and found a solution or have any ideas on how to check the problem.

Phantom, the car is fuel injected(early 1975) and is stock. To date only one injector has been replaced.

I would first start with the airflow meter. Check to see if the flap is not sticking. Then check the connection for corrosion. The other thing to check is the throttle position switch. Also check and clean the connection. After you checked and cleaned the corrosion off of the connections then try out the car hopefully this will take care of the problem.

Larry,
You can also check your fuel pressure regulator. I believe the older fuel ijected Z's are supposed to run about 36psi for fuel pressure. Put a gauge in the fuel line and watch the pressure - especially as the engine RPM increases.
