I want to get a engine block and build it up. I do not know if I should get a stock one for my 77 280z or one from 83 I think I have heard it will fit. I want to keep it rather stock but with the good stuff in it. let me know what you think about this?

It will fit. I think that the later the block the better it will be. Doesn't the 83 block have extra webbing between the cyl walls? Or is that just the turbo block?

Re: Later is better

>From the infor I have gotten from this site mainly, later is better. Although they are the same block the heads and pistons are different giving about 10 extra horses for the stock swap. I have a 76 and am building up a 82 engine. I have to post another question about additional items the also have to be changed so you may want to look at that question when it gets some responses.
Good luck
