This just happened this morning for the first time and I'm Stumped. I was driving down the street when the car just shut off, almost as if I turned off the key. It would start again a few seconds later but would soon do the same thing. Sometimes It would go for a few minutes other times a few seconds.

Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
Gary

Reminds me of when I got my new Z and its battery connectors were in need of replacement.
Are yours ok? Look black? Loose? Try tightening/replacing them.

Other than that... not sure.

same thing happened to me... took me months of posting and replacing only to figure out it was a loose connection on my IC unit on the front of my dist. Just check and tighten all of your connectors... the best advice you could get... best of luck to ya..

OK.......put me in the "same thing happened to me " category as well. In my case it turned out being one of the fusible links. One of the slip connecters only had two or three strands making contact, the others had broke off, from either vibration or just the fact that they were 20+ years old. It died on me a couple of times before I figured it out. I put a new end on i,t that I just happened to have in the ashtray (one in a million) and drove straight to the dealer and bought a new set. It's been doing great ever since. Hope this helps.

From the posts, everybody has pointed out good items to check on.
From your post, you state that it is ELECTRICAL, therefore, when the car shuts off, are the lights still on? Does the alternator light come on? or does everything shut down.

Just because the engine dies, doesn't necessarily mean it's electrical. Earlier this month there was a discussion on clogged fuel filters and broken electrical fuel pumps. Either one of these would do the same symptoms you've described.

Sorry if this is plainly obvious, but thought I'd ask.
