I have a 1973 240Z with electrical problems. Some of my fuses get so hot they melt the plastic around them. Only three do this the dash lights and tail lights fuse, the signal fuse , and the fan fuse. I had one suggestion that it is the fuse box. He said that it is the fuse box. He said it is worn out and old. Is this true if not what can I do?

Thanks
Shaun

Just replacing the box won't do the trick. The reason the box is melting is because there is an increase in resistance somewhere along the lines for each fuse. I had this problem with the side light etc. fuse. Mine melted and I replaced the box. This worked for a while but it did it again. What I did before hooking up the next box was to clean all the contacts for the bulbs and connecters with emory cloth. Some of them were really corroded. Seemed to work for me. No problems yet.
