So long as they're both socketed ECUs, then yes so far as I know. Can't think of any reason why except for if you have an auto transmission in the car. I think somewhere else in the ECU facilitates the functioning of the auto trans, not the eprom. Auto ecu will support both auto and manual cars, manual ecu will not support an auto car.

I have a 2 socketed ecus, I am wondering if I can just swap the eproms or are the ecus somehow programmed to the current eprom installed
