Do I actually NEED a TB spacer?

If I hog out the intake manifold so its port matched to the 240sx TB, do I need the spacer? or can I just bolt the 240sx TB onto the intake? I searched, but all I got was people looking to buy spacers, no one actually saying they needed them. thanks!

you need one, so the linkage matches up

Ya gotta buy one, because you need one not because they look pretty.

The throttle linkage for the 240sx unit hits the intake runner so you have to extend it out an inch.

Gotta hog out the intake manifold to make it WORTH IT to use the larger TB. Otherwise its just a big mouth, with a small neck.

The 240sx tb has the same bolt pattern as the L28 one though, so it will bolt right up.

yeah, Ive got all teh parts and Ive already started hogging out my manifold. did some mild port matching and got rid of all those ugly ass bumps from the injector hold down screws right at the end of the runner. Its all coming together. plus, with a 256 degree cam, I'll get to use that 60MM TB!

This should help show why

Stanza tb w/ jsk spacer

So is the Stanza just the same but without the water pipes?

Dave
You can use no space like I did. It is possible, just have to do some engineering to make it work.
yes, bolts up the same but the water lines are on the bottom.

tech280zx, should the water lines be plumbed into the cooling system?

Thanks,
Dave
not sure, i've heard people say either or on this forum. Right now mine are bypassed with no problems.
