I belive I am going to have to replace my distributor. The haynes manual mentions something about inserting a pin so it wont rotate......I think I can do it but if it is installed wrong then I might strip gears in assembly and lead to more problems ....what tips can you guys give me

The gears of the assembly you're talking about are applied to the oil pump, not the distributor. It is opposite of GM cars. Just mentally note the clock position of the rotor if you're unsure. It will only go in 1 way, you can't miss by 1 tooth or anything like that. When you pull the old one you'll see why. Whole project will take 15 minutes, 5 of that will be finding that **** 10mm wrench. This applies to n/a's of course..turbos' I have no clue
