I recently have a 1973 240 z with a dual point distributor, as you probably already know it came on automatic models. Anyways I recently purchased a single point distributor and was wondering if anyone had ever done the conversion. I need to know where the point lead on the new distributor plugs in. Do I have to run a new wire? I was told from the person I bought it from that I should just plug into one of the existing two plugs. I did this and my car ran completly awful, it misfired and sounded like it was running on 2 to 4 cylinders. Please help this is my everyday car, and it isnt running right with the dual point.
