I am trying to sort out my distributor issues and I could use some help.

My original 1973 mangled its own internals.
Though the car isn't running right now and it is a manual, I currently have a dual point (automatic) distributor in there because it was the only one I could find for sale.

Ideally, I would like to swap in a distributor from a 1979-1980 280zx, which I have read is essentially a drop-in upgrade. However, it appears these are extremely hard to find as I cannot locate one.

I have read that the Cardone 31-1002 remanufactured distributors should work. However, all of the part-finder on the retailers (partsgeek, autoparts wharehouse) say that it wont fit.

Will the 31-1002 fit? Is there another option here?

the distributor support is slightly different to clock the distributor at the correct angle. Get a stand off any L28, unbolt at the bottom two bolts...and it will transfer to your L24, allowing the later L28 E12-80 electronic Distributors work just fine.
