As i accelerate everything is cool till I take my foot off the pedal. There is a noise like a flap is loose and its going crazy. Doesnt seem to affect anything but it really bugs me. Wondering what it could be coming from. Oh ya its a 82 280zx nonturbo. Thanks.

Mine is doing the same thing. Changed the Trans. and Diff mount, the noise still there. U-joint are tight. Don't know what to do next. Let me know if you find out how to get rid of that noise.

This may be a long shot, but it could be coming from the BCDD. My 82 280zx makes a groaning sound when I decelerate and I found it is coming from that device. It's caused by the diaphram inside the valve vibrating when the the valve actuates, which occurs at very high vacuum conditions (i.e. when decelerating from fairly high RPM). Try listening under the hood while reving the engine and see if it sounds like its coming from below the intake manifold.
