2 Questions...
I have a set of weber 40 DCOE carbs I recently installed on my Z (L-28). The problem is when at idle, fuel would leak out of the intake (velocity Stacks) on two of the carbs. I have the fuel pressure set at 3.5 and I have all the floats adjusted to 8mm. Any ideas???

Also, I could not get the idle to smooth out. I played around witht he timing a little but I could not get the car to idle smooth. It would always have a pop and sometimes would blow back through the carbs. I'm a little new at these webers so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have since put my SU's back on until I can figure this thing out. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Gary

The leaking fuel may be due to faulty/dirty needlr valves. they control the flow of fuel into the float chamber. I would suggest getting a rebuild kit for the carbs and cleaning them up if they are used. This should fix the problem. If not you may have to replace the valves. I had the same thing happen to me. It turned out that the valves were just dirty and were getting stuck open. You may also need to adjust the float level. they may be letting too much fuel into the bowls.
