Question for the group:

Has anyone taken the front R180 4.11 differential from a Datsun 720 4x4 pickup truck and placed it on a 240Z with a R180 differential? Is this a simple swap of the differential or do I need to take the "guts" from the 720 truck differential and place it into the 240Z differential case?

Hmm that would have been an Idea i stuck in the r180 3.9 and it works but it wasnt an exact fit.

Yeah, I did this. It bolted right in without any problems, very easy.

How much did you have to pay it? There is one in a yard near me but the guy wants $200(if I remember correctly), is it worth that? I have a 4.11, so it is not worth it to me.

I have one of these nissan 720 4x4s. I was told the rear diff is an LSD. So does this mean i have a 4.11 LSD R180 diff sitting in my ute outside? It's an '84.
