Don't cut eihbach springs, they are a progressive design spring and cutting them will mess the ride up.
The next thing to do is go to a different wheel/tire combo to fill out the wheel wells.
Should be some stuff in the archives about sizes that fit.
Then if it still doesn't look low enough for you try a ground effects kit from motorsport or victoria british.
If you go lower by cutting your springs, you risk being in the place I'm at where I can't get enough camber adjustment to keep from eating tires, found out the hard way that the previous owner cut the ms springs in the car I've got and the only way to get back to a reasonable camber figure is to replace the springs.

Re:I CUT BACK SPRINGS RECENTLY AND IT WORKS GREAT!

> i cut 3 rings off my 82 zx rear springs it
gave me 3 of drop BUT my zx has been extensively
lightned (no p.s , a.c , bumper beams, etc.)

so your drop will vary because all zs weight
slightly different, from my experience i can say
that cutting 1 ring will give ABOUT 1 drop

cutting springs is EASY!!!!!!!!
heres how:

buy yourself a 4 1/2 inch electric grinder 50$
get a GOOD steel cutting disk to mount to grindr
use a 17mm socket to remove strut ,remove 3 nuts
at top of strut and 1 nut at bottom at stub.

of course have car SAFELY jacked and supported
as you will be sticking your head in the wheelwell

rent a spring compressor FREE from your local
auto zone parts store ,DO NOT REMOVE SPRINGS

WITH OUT COMPRESSING SPRINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when you have spring out deciding how many rings
to cut can be daunting, if you cut more than
1 ring it it good to have some one weld the
spring onto the strut to be safe , try 1 ring cut
sit the car down and decide if you want it lower.

cutting a spring with a cutting disk is simple
you will be amazed how quickly that little
grinder cuts through spring steel

USE GLOVES AND SAFETEY GLASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some notes:

lowering a zx's rear is good for the axels because
lowering will put the axels more parallell with
the diff releiving stress on the joints!

also another benefit will happen as the camber
will change and cause the top of the tires to
slightly tip inwards and give a zx much better
resistance to sliding out!!!!!!!

good luck , happy new year!!!!!!

Yes you can cut your springs but you don't want to cut Eihbach springs.
Look in the archives for I didn't know ms made 2 drop
The whole issue about springs, cutting, and camber is covered in there.
