a custom fuel rail can't be too hard to make right? just an aluminum pipe (what diameter?) and 6 fittings for the injectors and fitting on the end for the inlet and return line right? do I need a return line? any info?

There are a number of rails out there, Idealz has one you might want. You do need a return line, you cant stone wall the pump, and it will make the car run weird, and you will be able to take advantage of the cool fuel running through the system.

You are correct, not real hard. Yes, you do need a return, and don't forget about the pressure regulator -- fuel inlet on one end, pressure regulator and return on the other, or you can remotely mount the regulator, but the pressure will not be as constant the further from the rail it is.

And remember, measure twice, cut once. :D
