I have an '82 Turbo that is in excellent mechanical shape. Good body, too, except the rear driver's quarter panel, which at some point in its life before me was crunched. The guy who fixed it didn't know what he was doing. What I'd like to do is cut a good quarter out of a good car and replace the crunched metal in mine (now full of bondo and a cheapie, mismatched paint). Does anyone have any experience with this? Will I compromise the structural integrity of the rear of the car by removing the outside panel up to above the quarter window? I have Mig and some body experience but have never replaced so large a piece on a unibody car.
