Hi all,

It all started when I pegged the Speedometer needle past 85 MPH, and the needle ran into the trip reset button. Now, when the my car goes above ~40 MPH, the speedometer jumps to 75! I'm not sure of this, but if I go above 75 MPH it starts climbing again.

I would like to think that I'm going faster than I really am, and I can go 40 to 75 MPH in less than 2 seconds, but I'm afraid I'm going to get a ticket throught the residential areas some day...

Any idea if this is an easy fix? Thanks in advance, you guys are really great in helping me out!

I just fixed an issue where my speedo was bouncing ~20mph in some places and made an aweful clicking. All I did was unscrew the connector where the speedo cable meets the gauge cable hanging down behind the dash close to the firewall. Just pulled it apart and pulled out the 6" spring part running up to the gauge. Reset all the pieces and tightened it good and to my surprise no more clicking and it reads accurate! So maybe you popped that spring mechanism loose.
