L24 engine 1971 I have to tap the crank for the pully bolt. Other owner thought they could use a non metric too long bolt. What is the bolt size? 15mm fine thread? Next do I need a gasket for the timming chain slack tensioner? A book I have said that I do and that it should be in the gasket kit. It was not.

hi, i think the bolt is coarse thread. i have a rethreding kit and the appropriate retherader is under coarse. Also, for the tensioner there is a gasket, and a lot of kits dont include it. use it if you want to, extra safety, but you dont need it. the surface is flat, and the new tensioner should be also. check agains surface to see if there are any gaps. good luck
