Well I got the rubber piece out and the center inner tube no problem. I have cut thru the outer metal ring and have hammered, and hammered, and hammered and she won’t budge. Used the screw driver tip to tap around it on both sides. Broke the screw driver. Heated it up again. No joy. I put a socket on it that was just undersized and hammered, and hammered, and hammered...................
I had to cut mine in 3 places to get them out. Mine were really stuck like yours. Spray it with penetrating oil also. Don't get frustrated and reckless though. Take your time. Good luck.
i have cut two more time close to the first cut. no dice. i have dinged up the area a little. i dont think it will cause any problems just cosmetic. she aint coming out...not by hand tools anyway.
If you're trying to do what I think you're trying to do, cut it in thirds. You should then be able to knock the pieces in. If you're not doing what I think you're trying to do, then never mind.
I always take an undersized socket and a superlarge socket on different ends of the metal bushing and c-clamp it. I have a 6 pt head on my clamp screw so I take a breaker bar to it and it always comes out, but not before the vein on your forehead is bout to explode!!!
