Check the wiring connectors.
Confused on heater fan wiring

I'm trying to figure out
1. With the stock wiring in place, my fan speed selector does not work. The only thing I know of is the resistor on top of the blower housing, the temp probe has been cut off.
2. That being said is there a way to simply wire the selector to work without that probe. The car had AC but all of those components are removed.
The more I look at the wiring the more confused I get, the FSM is hard to read on a phone!

take the fsm to kinkos and have them print out the schematic on 11x17 makes it a lot easier to follow.
